Two Upcoming Fundraisers for The Humane Society of York County

The Humane Society of York County, our local no-kill animal shelter, has two fundraisers coming up. It costs thousands of dollars each month to take care of all the cats and dogs at HSYC and every dollar raised is very much needed.

  • The 3rd Annual Howl’ oween Contest and Parade will take place at the Humane Society (8177 Regent Parkway) on Sunday October 28, 2012. In addition to a parade and costume contest, there will be bake sale items and a raffle. Festivities take place from 1-3pm.
  • Paint Your Pet Special Event will take place at The Painted Parrot in downtown Fort Mill at 7pm on Saturday November 17. Bring a picture of your pet and all needed materials will be supplied. Cost is $25 and profits go to HSYC. Register at thepaintedparrot.net

Each year The Humane Society finds homes for 100s of loving animals, many of whom have been abused or neglected. Pictured is my dog Darla whom I adopted from the Humane Society. She is the sweetest dog and we can no longer imagine our lives without her. There are many other dogs just like her at the shelter waiting for a family to come in and give them a second chance. Adoption hours are Tuesday- Sunday 1pm-4pm (closed Mondays)
