The construction of the first Evans Coghill homes in Riverwalk are well underway. The homes are being called “The Catawba Collection’ and pricing begins in the mid- 200′s. Homes in The Catawba Collection include 3 and 4 bedroom plans as well as a ranch plan. In reaction to current economic times, Evans Coghill has really made an attempt to stream line its homes, making more efficient use of space and eliminating “dead areas” from their floor plans. Evans Coghill is one of two builders currently building in Riverwalk, the other being Saussy Burbank.
Evans Coghill Homes was formed in the Charlotte area in 2000 and has built homes in many of the area’s most popular neighborhoods including Baxter and Springfield in Fort Mill. Just last year, their home won Best Overall Home in the 2011 Baxter Homearama. You can see pictures of this lovely home here.
The model home, The Landsford, should be complete by the end of the summer. It is a 3 bedroom / 2 1/2 bath home containing approximately 2,200 square feet, a spacious covered back porch, and a first floor master suite. This home is really catered to the way modern Americans live- absent are formal dining and living areas. In their place are large, open everyday living areas and a room that can be used as a home office.

Riverwalk is a new 1,008 acre Mixed-Use Development in Rock Hill, SC that will have maybe the most unique collection of amenities of any development in the area. The Development is in close proximity to I-77 making it an easy commute to Charlotte and it also contains a fabulous amount of River-front property on the Catawba River. Riverwalk Trail, a paved walking/biking trail runs for 2 1/4 miles along side the river and is a wonderful location for a leisurely weekend walk. I walked it just last week with my friend Mike and took a picture of the Rail Road Tracks (still in use) that cross the river. The stone supports for the bridge apparently date back to the 1800s.
Riverwalk is also home to the area’s first Velodrome, a venue for bike racing. Bike races at The Giordana Velodrome will take place throughout the summer on Thursday and Friday evenings and begin at 7pm. Other amenities at Riverwalk will include mountain bike trails, a BMX course, athletic fields, a rock climbing wall, a town center, and a YMCA adjacent to the Velodrome.
