Fort Mill Neighborhoods: Massey

It seems we are all just a little bit nostalgic for the past when neighborhoods were tight-knit, there were neighborhood block parties, and everyone looked out for each other’s kids. Developers are taking note. Massey, a new development out Doby’s Bridge Rd in Fort Mill, is full of side-walk lined streets, neighborhood gathering areas, and family oriented amenities and is the perfect neighborhood for those who want to feel connected to their neighbors and involved in the community.

There are currently 2 builders building in Massey, Ryan Homes and David Weekley Homes. Building had stalled at Massey for several years because the development went into foreclosure during the housing crisis. Now that both Ryland and Massey have built and opened Model Homes, Massey’s future looks bright.

Ryan Model Home

Currently Ryan Homes is offering homes up to 5 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths from the 190s to the upper 280s. Ryan’s homes are Energy Star certified, resulting in up to 30% lower utility costs. Average lot size for the Ryan Homes lots is around .16 acres.

The David Weekley Model features craftsman style architecture, a 3-car side load garage, granite countertops, and hardwood floors throughout the living areas. This home also has a large bonus room with full bath upstairs that could be used as a guest suite. David Weekley homes in Massey run in the 300s.

The amenities in Massey really can’t be beat with a 2-story clubhouse featuring a fitness center and 18-seat movie theater and a Junior Olympic size pool with lazy river water park and water slide.

Actually, it’s RYAN homes not Ryland. Ryland built here before the foreclosure but RYAN came in as well as David Weekley. It’s a fantastic neighborhood to live in!

Thank you so much for correcting me. No matter how hard I try not to, I always get Ryan and Ryland mixed up.

    • T Mc says:

If you know your home history Ryland and Ryan were brothers. They split and one kept Ryan while the other started Ryland so it’s easy to get the home styles confused because they are similar!
