The Chocolat Boutique, located in Baxter Village, is now taking Valentine’s Day orders for custom chocolate selections and chocolate covered strawberries. Open since 2007 and owned by Gail van Welsen, Chocolat Boutique offers both hand-crafted truffles made on-site and imported European chocolates from Belgium, Switzerland, and France. Truffles are made using only the freshest ingredients and are only made in small batches to ensure freshness. They are individually hand-dipped and hand-decorated.

 

 

 

The assortment of truffles can be overwhelming. When I go, I usually just pick a 1/2 dozen and I agonize greatly over which ones to get. A few of the choices are Raspberry Rhapsody, Cappuccino, Kahlua, Dark Cayenne, Key Lime, Strawberry Black Pepper, and Passion Fruit (their newest edition – all natural passion fruit puree surrounded by dark chocolate ganache. Special Seasonal truffles are also introduced throughout the year. Very popular for Valentine’s Day are the chocolate covered strawberries.
