Amazing Maize Maze 2012 at Rural Hill

The kids are back in school, the fall weather is approaching (hopefully!) and it is time to start planning some autumn activities. Hay rides, apple and pumpkin picking, and my personal favorite- the corn maze. The Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill Farm in Huntersville, NC opened today for their 2012 season. It’s a little bit of a hike up to Rural Hill from Fort Mill, but the drive is well worth it.

This 7 acre corn maze consists of over 2 miles of paths- so put your walking shoes on and get ready for a couple of hours of adventure ( it takes on average between 45-90 minutes to complete the maze.)

2011 Maze

This year’s theme is “Get out the Vote” and the trivia questions located throughout the maze focus on the history of the electoral process in America. There are 12 map pieces hidden within the maze. Collect all the pieces to help find your way out.

In addition to the maze, food is available along with a covered picnic area, hayrides, cornhole, soccer, hiking trails, and pumpkins are available for purchase in October. If you want a little extra excitement, check out the Flashlight Maze on Friday and Saturday nights.

Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up, $7 ages 5-12, and 4 and younger are free.

Open weekends through Nov 4th. Visit Rural Hill’s website for directions and hours.
