This weekend the yearly reenactment of the Battle of Huck’s Defeat will take place at Historic Brattonsville. The Battle, also called The Battle of Williamson’s Plantation, took place July 12, 1780 and was a major victory in the American Revolution, not so much in size but in importance. Many believe it was The Battle of Huck’s Defeat that convinced the rebels that the British could be defeated and it fueled their cause.
Throughout the weekend there will be historical musical performances, living history demonstrations, children’s activities, and theatrical performances. Battle skirmishes will take place both Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.
